Community Involvement

In addition to programs and initiatives supporting area school districts, we also support a wide array of community programs and organizations. Our staff members volunteer time, talent, and leadership in addition to Foundation monetary resources.

Community Organizations

Being a good community citizen means you give back to the community that has enabled your success. For ECU and the ECU Foundation, we proudly donate our time, talent, and resources to inspire and promote greater good across the community.

This year, ECU was recognized as a 50+ organization–we upped our donations to United Way by 50% this year. Also, ECU volunteers worked at the Opportunty School’s Gratitude House (woman’s homeless shelter) by planting a garden and making an activity wall for the children at the home.

Throughout the year, the credit union sponsors Canyon, Texas’s Main Street events. Canyon was designated by the Texas Historical Commission as a “main street town”. This organization focuses on public-private partnerships to improve the quality of life for Canyon citizens and promote historic preservation, restoration, business vitality, tourism, cultural and arts awareness in the town.
